Casting-ready jewellery files
Every CAD file we make for a customer is casting-ready as standard. It is not an extra service or an extra charge, and nothing is held up at your workshop.
What this service is
A model that looks right on screen can still fail at the casting stage. Thin walls, gaps in the surface, stones that do not sit properly or a shape that cannot be printed all cost time and metal.
Casting-ready is not an add-on. Every CAD model we make is built and checked with production in mind, so it can go straight to your casting house or 3D printer. We adjust to your workshop's requirements when you tell us what they are.

- A check for closed solids, wall thickness, stone seats and prong strength

Casting-ready preparation is part of our CAD modelling, so the price follows the CAD rates for the type and complexity of the piece.

How long does it take?
Simple pieces are delivered within 24 hours. Complex pieces take 2 to 3 days. We confirm the timing for your order before we start.
Which file formats do you provide?
Normally .3dm and .stl. Other formats can be arranged on request.
Will my casting house accept the files?
We build to standard jewellery practice. If your casting house has specific requirements, send them to us and we follow them.
Do you check the model before sending?
Yes. We check that the model is a closed solid, with sensible thickness and proper stone seats.
Can you prepare files for 3D printing?
Yes. We provide .stl files for printing and can adjust the model to suit your printer.
