How to choose a jewellery rendering studio: questions to ask
Rendering studios vary a lot, and the cheapest is not always the best value. These questions help you compare them.
1. Can I see samples in my category?
Look for renders of pieces like yours, with realistic metal and stones. Check close-ups, not just the main picture.
2. What do you need from me?
A good studio tells you exactly what files and information they need, such as a .3dm file with all details built in. See file formats.
3. What do I receive?
Ask for sizes, formats and how many views and colours are included. For example, a package may be three colours and four views at 2000 px.
4. How are revisions handled?
Ask what is included, and what is charged. Our approach is to adjust until you approve, with changes after approval charged by the hour.
5. Is the pricing clear?
Look for published rates and a clear statement of what changes the price. See how CAD pricing works.
6. Who owns the files, and how are they treated?
Your designs should stay yours, and the studio should keep them confidential.
7. Can they edit the CAD if needed?
Some renders need small changes to the model. Ask if this is possible, and how it is priced. Our basic and premium rendering options differ in this.
Frequently asked questions
Should I choose the cheapest studio?
Not automatically. Compare quality, what is included and how revisions are handled.
Can I test a studio first?
Many studios will quote for a single style. Start with one piece to check the quality.
